Today was pretty easy and fun!
Joined in on two PE classes. Played some volleyball... was in a team that lost one of like 4-6 games. Made some cool moves and did some awesome serving... but, had the occassional ball out of control. Need to practice bumping the ball without my fists. Also joined in on some baseball. Our team was losing when the coach blew the whistle to end the game. A bit disappointing... but, whatev. However, he then realizes he stopped the class early... like 10 minutes early. So, my team cheered since a good batter was up to bat and I and another dude was on base. He ended up batting it straight to the third base dude... so, I got out within running 5 steps... :sigh:. However, we did manage to score in that inning. We were still down by like 4 points, but my next go at batting gave our team a fighting chance. I'd even go as far as to say that I, myself, turned the whole game around. With one dude on base, I hit the ball over the outfielder who had to chase the ball to God knows where. All I know is that I had an RBI and made a home run meself. So, we were down only 2 points then. And, that was the inspiration we needed as the other good batter then went making a home run himself... and bringing in 2 runners with him. So, we ended up winning in those 10 minutes. We apparently did in those 10 minutes what we couldn't do in 35 minutes... heh heh.
Anyway, classes were good and nothing really special to report there. My main highlight of the day was participating in PE... baseball specifically.
Afterschool I went to the exchange center to go to my Japanese class. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but, yeah... they give free Japanese classes at the place where I used to go to use the computer. Rob and I luckily ran into one of the teachers during a festival, and we traded information and manged to get the class started again. It's 3 ladies who volunteer and who are very nice.
They also seem to think I'm hilarious... which as you might know... I'm all about making people laugh... especially when it happens without much effort and by me just being myself.
Today's class (which marks our third one) was like a field trip. They took us to different places to get membership cards (like Lawson!). And we also went to eat dinner. I had the laughing so hard... but, it was mostly due to me just being stupid... like literally stupid. Man, was I stupid! Guess cold weather been affecting me... heh heh.
In fact, I think I'm actually getting sick. Well... it's inevitable now so I might as well admit it... I am sick. Man, I have never in my life have become sick so fast.
I mean, I realized I had a runny nose at school, but I thought it was because I was drawing and going crazy with a permanent marker. In fact, my runny nose went away once I stopped using it.
But, at dinner, it came back... WITH A VENGEANCE!
I now have the same runny nose... like crazy... and a sore throat a-comin'... and dinner was only about two hours ago.
::sigh::
I'm surprised it happened so fast since I've been drinking OJ like crazy since I've been in Ofunato. But, it was bound to happen. I'll just have to drug myself and get me some of those "anti-foreigner masks." That's actually a reference that only a few will understand... last year while I was studying abroad in Kyoto... our landlord used the mask that the Japanese use when they're sick. However, he had it on the whole month that we were there... and I highly doubt he was sick that whole time... so, we figured he used it to avoid our gaijin cooties.
Anyway... I'm going off on a tangent... point is I'll have to probably get them since, yeah... the Japanese use it when they're sick.
And of course... this all happens before I get observed and recorded by my company tomorrow. But, it might actually work to my advantage. If they see me wearing the mask... they'll know I'm sick... and maybe they won't be as harsh and take my sickness into account.
Though, I have to admit... I feel quite fine... just having trouble breathing and swallowing.
Anyway... laterness! Hopefully I can fight this sickness fast... especially since I might be hosting some friends this weekend.
