This weekend rocked some serious asphalt!
Got drunk... some of Friday night is still a blur... but, that's what makes for an interesting night... don't you think?
It was our going away deal for all us Iwate-ans leaving Iwate. I think it was quite a success indeed.
Saturday was a more chill night... but, still cool nonetheless. I hit some more onsens.
Yeah, crazy... I know.
One onsen happened to be a mixed one. Not really sure I'm up for hitting another one anytime soon.
I'm a man of a routine.
My first onsen set a routine that I am now comfortable with. You go and strip in a room. You walk to a place where you can shower. You then go onsen to your hearts content.
Mixed onsen (or at least this mixed onsen's) routine... kind of clashes with what I expected and what I wanted.
You walk in... BAM... ONSEN.
Doesn't help that my onsen-junkied friend was like... oh man... I wasn't expecting that either.
No room to change... it's already outside... er'body is already naked. No real area for you to shower.
Wasn't feeling that... especially the no real shower designation area. I like to take my shower... mostly as a means to calm down and relax about being naked. Not only that... I'm kind of a hygien fiend... and, I like being clean and others being clean before entering a tub of water. I know it's bigger than a tub... but, that's basically what it is. A big tub of naked people who were bathing in each others' dirtiness.
Yeah... wasn't feeling it. I kept to my corner and basically left the first moment I saw fit.
I later hit another onsen in the same place that was not mixed. Had the recipe I liked.
I enjoyed it very much.
Got naked at my own pace... hit the shower area to shower and relax. Went in to the spring. Lingered for some time before I got out and showered again. Amazing how out of nowhere it occurred to me... "hey... I'm naked... I forgot..."
But, yeah... it was a cool night. Hung with cool people and ate some good food and basically just relaxed. Relaxing was the key element to that night... especially after partying it up the night before.
Well... now I need to kill tonight, Monday and Tuesday before I get my move on.
It just sucks that I've been meeting such cool people within the past two weeks. I'm meeting all these people just as I'm getting ready to leave. I wish I would've met them earlier and had more opportunities to hang with them.
But, at least I now have a lot more people's places to crash at if and when I come back to visit Iwate.
