It's Time For The Magic To Start

I finally have committed myself to buying a camera... like a real camera... a Nikon D90 to be exact.

I am one happy boy!

Sometime during my 2 years here in Japan, I've become more and more interested in photography... but, over the past couple of months specifically, this interest has spiked phenomenally. It's mostly do to the fact that I've been surrounded by other people interested in photography... and through them I've been able to learn a little here and there... enough to make me realize that my digital camera (though we've had many fond memories) just doesn't cut it anymore.

I don't think I've been as excited about something I've bought myself as much as this. It sounds ridiculous since I buy myself shit I want without much thought... but, I guess this purchase is different for the main fact that it's something that can help me have an outlet for my creativity and imagination.

I can finally respond without much thought or hesitation when asked what my hobby is.

Photography.

So, yeah... I have to admit that I'm quite the photography amateur... and my first couple of shots are pretty... uh... let's just say as pathetic as some of these shots came out... they were a nice attempt.

So, here's a little taste of what I've taken thusfar... I can only hope that I find my inner photographer soon enough:

Typical "I just got a real camera" Shot

My Mini Christmas Tree

Lacking some subjects... I resorted to taking pictures of my Pokemon Stuffed Dolls

So yeah... out of like 40 shots... these are the only ones I considered "decent"... psssh... heh heh, I need to find my groove! And... also, real subjects... I can only do so much with Pokemon stuffed dolls... heh heh.

So, though the magic has started... I haven't actually successfully created magic yet. Soon though... we shall see!

I actually liked your pictures. The Pokemon ones were surprisingly, cute... At first I was like, "Here he goes again with his Pokemon." But then, I was like, "awww cute." Have fun with your new toy, and take plenty of pictures to document your journey! :-)

Heh heh... I said I was lacking subjects... so I had to resort to using the Pokemon. But, I was more about looking for artistry than just goofing around with them... I have matured... somewhat... heh heh.

But, yeah... thanks Krizi! Glad you like the pictures!

The pics look great Vic! It seems you only had to wait just a little longer for that lens. When are you going to put up pic with your light sketching effect? I find those so intriguing! I hope you're going to take great pictures of the sakura trees come spring!

I'm in need of a tripod and I also want a remote control for my camera to make it easier to Light Paint. Then, I'm kind of lacking subjects... if only you were here in Japan fool... heh heh.

But... soon enough... with winter break beginning next week... I shall find some time and do some more... heh heh.

Can't wait for spring... not just for the sakura... but, also for the flowers and green and all that in general!
