Let me just start off by saying that actually getting a visa, not such a long process. Especially if you're nearby a Japanese Embassy or Consulate.
But, of course... for me, it is a much longer process.
The Interac company finally managed to receive and send me the Certificate of Eligibility to help me with my Work Visa. I would've received it yesterday, but apparently they knocked on the door when we were sleeping. That surprises me because I'm usually a light sleeper and figured I would've heard one of the two knocks.
So, they left the little paper saying where and when you can pick it up... but, they didn't mark that they'd try again. So, naturally... seeing that I forgot to pick it up yesterday and since I was being lazy, I tried to get everything accomplished yesterday.
I wake up at 9... eat breakfast... take a shower, get ready... all that stuff and leave sometime around 10 to go to the nearby FedEx place. Get there show them my flyer thing, and of course... turns out that the carrier has my package... and better yet, have already attempted twice to deliver it to my house. Looks like I left literally a minute or two before they delivered it...::sigh::
I told the guy that I really needed the package since it was my important documentation to get my visa, so he helped me out by telling me that he notified the guy to return to my house in about 20 minutes.
So, I hurry to my house and as I walk in, the phone rings. Pick it up and it turns out that it's the dude at FedEx I talked to earlier and he asks me if it's okay if I can meet up with the carrier at 11 at a nearby Publix. I said it would be no problem... and head on over there since it was only 15 minutes away. Rush to Publix and immediately realize that there is already a FedEx truck there, so I parked next to the truck and just wait. It's past 11 and the dude is still not in the truck... I begin to wonder if maybe he's waiting for me inside. I walked inside, nobody, so I return to my car and see another FedEx truck pull in. Oh man, wrong truck... heh heh...
Get my package, but by then... it's too late to catch the Consulate before their lunch.
I basically just get home, and then my friend, Rachael, decides to join me so we can "study for Japanese"... I say that because we never got to it... heh heh.
So, once she gets to my house we head on over to the Dadeland North Metrostation and caught the Metro to the Brickell Stop and went to the Consulate. The actual process only took like 10 minutes... go figure... heh heh.
But whatever, it's finally done. Got to pick it up on Tuesday after 2... so, anybody interested in accompanying me to the Consulate... come along.
And thus... that was my long day to get a Visa. Laterness!
