Wake Up and Smell the Chaos!

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this a couple of times... but, I really want internet and my phone already. In fact... it's more of a NECESSITY at this point.

This morning... here we go!

On Tuesday, I had sent an e-mail stating that I had not received a schedule for today or tomorrow. It was a bit confusing since at first I thought I was to go to one school, then I was told to go to another one. On Tuesday, however, I was told that by the school I was last scheduled to visit, that there would not be any English classes since the students were going on a class trip.

A bit confusing, but yesterday, I got a call telling me that a taxi would pick me up at 7:20 at my apartment in order to take me to the first originally scheduled class. No schedule just yet... but, hey, it was some information on where I had to go. I basically had two lessons under my belt (the intro one from Monday and the Self-Intro one from Tuesday)... so, I wasn't stressing not really having a schedule. I figured I'd just talk to the JTE's and tell them that I had these two lessons prepped.

So, this morning, I went down at 7:10 to wait for my taxi. When it didn't show up... I went to a pay phone about 5 minutes away to contact the emergency number. She seemed to already know that my taxi hadn't showed up... so, I thought she knew who I was. I went back to my apartment since she said the taxi would be there soon. As I waited, my landlord, who is the really awesome man who owns the restaurtant I'm above, came out and asked if I was waiting for my taxi. Since I was and it was almost 8, I asked if I could use his phone. I called the emergency number again, and that is when I realized that she thought I was probably another ALT before. She asked where I was set to go... and I told her. Since I was running late, my landlord talked to her and she told me that he had offered to take me to the school. Man... this landlord is really nice... especially since he always trys talking to me and especially especially since the school is in the next city about 30 minutes away. When I get money... I'm definitely going to try baking him and his wife something.

When I arrived at the school, however, they told me that I was not scheduled for today. Once again called the emergency number. She told me that there seemed to be a mix up and I was not supposed to go to taht school this week and that my other school had cancelled. She asked if I had enough money for a taxi, and unfortunately I was short. However, a teacher had already volunteered to drive me back to my apartment since he was heading to Ofunato. The lady told me it was okay, so, the teacher drove me to Ofunato and I told him it was okay to drop me off at Sakari Station since it's close to my apartment (more people to bake for... heh heh...).

And that is the chaos of this morning.... thus, I need my phone already! I still don't know about tomorrow either... since, yeah... the school that cancelled is the one I was scheduled for... so, hopefully I find out soon.

As for tonight... I'm going to my first teacher drinking party... I believe it's called an enkei. Something like that... should be very interesting. Have to contact the teacher from Monday's school so he can pick me up... don't have my car yet afterall (even more people to bake for). Don't plan on getting drunk... but, I know that they are very eager... especially the Principal... to get me drunk. We'll see what happens.
