The Most Beautiful Thing I Have Ever Seen

Since I didn't have a school to go to today, I decided to go do a little more sightseeing around Ofunato.

On the agenda, a temple-like place next to the city office and Goishi Coast again (it's a pretty huge place with different places to see).

The temple-like place was pretty cool and peaceful. I'm not exactly sure if I was allowed to just walk around since I didn't see anybody (at first anyway), but I entered and took different pictures. I then noticed a person moving about inside the building, so, I decided to wrap things up and left as soon as he got outside... heh heh.

I'm pretty sure I was okay with being there... but, just in case, I left... I had finished seeing everything anyway... so, no biggie.

I then headed off to Goishi Coast again and wanted to go to this observation place where it seems like I can have a nice view overlooking the coast and the Pacific Ocean. However, it gets dark earlier and more quickly with each passing day. Come 5 PM... it starts getting dark and by 5:30... or earlier it seems... it's already dark.

So, for this reason, when I returned to the map area where it shows everything Goishi Coast has to offer, I chose to try the Nature Trail instead. I didn't get very far into it since by the time I made my two stops, it had gotten too dark. I would've pressed onward to at least see what else there was, but I saw what looked like a bat fly by me.

Don't get me wrong... I wasn't scared of the bat. In fact, I thought it was awesome. But, the fact that I didn't see the bat until it was next to me made me worry about "other things" I might not notice at all... "other things" mostly being spiders.

I decided to return and make my way back to my car when I suddenly caught notice of the moon. It looked really nice and I wanted to take pictures of it, so I decided to make my way to my first stop on the Nature Trail since I knew there was a nice opening with no trees to get in the way.

It was amazing. I tried snapping some pictures, but, they didn't come out as well as I had hoped and before I got to try out any other features to get better pictures, the moon disappeared behind some clouds. I just stood there looking out into the ocean and enjoyed the sound of the waves crashing along the rock structure called Ranbouya.

I ended up lucking out since the moon then reappeared without any clouds to block its view. Man, it was amazing.

It is without a doubt, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

Who knows... it might very well be the most beautiful thing I will ever see... but, I'm still young... so, don't want to be saying stuff like that just yet.

I managed other features in my camera and took some pictures, but, again... they don't do justice to what I actually saw.

The moon had this nice glow to it and the moonlight reflected from the ocean in this cool stream-like manner. In the horizon, I saw a bunch of boats with their lights on... and some of the lights I later realized where actually lighthouses in the distance. It was incredible. But, even more incredible was the moonlight. Though it was very dark, from where I was standing, it was pretty bright due to the moonlight.

I don't think I have ever seen such bright moonlight... in fact, it was bright enough to create a shadow of me. I really don't recall ever having a moonlit created shadow. I'm telling you... neither my pictures nor my words can justly describe what I saw tonight at that spot.

I stayed there overlooking the ocean for a good half an hour at least; watching the moon and the stream of light in reflected on the water's surface while the waves harmoniously crashed against the cliff and Ranbouya was too magical and unreal. I can only hope I will never forget this experience... ever!

I did not want to leave, but the mosquitoes and my stomach suddenly growling told me it was time to go. I entered the forest... which made me realize how dark it actually was. Though the path wasn't very long, I had trouble seeing where I was actually heading... heh heh. I made it out and drove away. Funny thing is, I then noticed that some clouds had hidden the moon again... so, I picked the perfect time to leave. That... or the forces of nature and/or God himself must have wanted me to get the most out of this experience... and for that... I am eternally grateful!

Yesterday's full moon was elegant, magnificent and charming. I never knew the moon could be so bright. It was as if the moon was helping a child find their way home somewhere. One would think they would make a 'moon block' to protect your skin from its powerful rays, but why would anybody block something so beautiful from reaching our hearts? Sigh. Bruce Wayne said it best, "I'M BATMAN!"

Amen.

The sequence of pictures is hilarious! its a pic of you and the moon, then a pic of you looking towards the moon (but your leg is perched over the wooden fence so it looks like you are trying to get to it...AND THEN, you're not in the picture...so it looks like you went over the fence (and fell...)LOL
beautiful moon though, so bright.
