On To New and Tokai Things

Tokai... that will be my new home within the next month.

Yup, my decision has been made and I called the company earlier today to let them know I was accepting the new position.

Congrats on your victory crappy school... but, I can't help but think the same thing will only happen to my successor. I ought to leave them a letter telling them about my cool schools... and warning them about the stupid school that sucks ass. Well, not the students... heh heh.

Anyway... looks my move is some time around the 20's of this month. I'm pretty excited about the new location... but, need to not let the excitement get out of control or my expectations of my new home will be too high.

Looks like I'll be downsizing my apartment and losing my car... but, at the same time... I will be benefitting.

I'll have a TV for starters. And, I realized how much I'm missing out on without a TV. I'll have more access to Japanese anime and music... thus being able to improve on my listening skills which suck tremendously. Not to mention, I'll have another activity available when I'm bored. I'll also have an actual furnished apartment... and don't think I'll have to pay for internet.

The biggest benefit is that I'll be able to have more spending money since I won't have to pay as much for rent as since I won't have a car payment to worry about.

But, then again... it will suck not having a car available to me anymore. Grocery shopping and other things that I easily took for granted with a car available... well, yeah... that's going to be obviously noted everytime I have to walk.

But, at least I will be walking and perhaps biking around... so... \o/ for exercise!

As you can see... I keep weighing the pros and cons of moving and having lived here... but, believe me... I'm not regretting this decision at all. I know I didn't want to return back home to Miami yet... so, I'm excited about my new life awaiting in Tokai... and the benefits that come with being in a more populous area... or, at least... near to more populous areas.

My only true disappointment is not being able to take my three schools I loved along with me... and all my students for that matter.

But, things happen for a reason. And, this is perhaps the best outcome to happen to me unexpectedly.

I was getting... or, honestly... not so much getting but was bored with Ofunato. I loved it when I had people to hang with... but, for the most part... I kept to my apartment. The availability of hangage was very limited and minimal.

But, I hope... at least being close to the capital this time and closer to Tokyo and Kyoto... that it'll be easier to travel and visit many places.

So, with that last good note... I'm ending this entry with no looking back. The decision is already made... so, now I will enjoy what's left of my time here and look forward to what's in my near future.
