Wasn't exactly a professional one, but... some friends and I decided to head to the beach under a bridge and do what is called "Light Painting."
It's something new to me too... but, quite an amazing thing. I can only hope to be able to dive more into the photography world... and see what other amazing things you can do with a camera and a lot of creativity.
But, yeah... going back to Light Painting... basically, you use a long exposure and flashlight to make designs and whatnot. Obviously I was quite an amateur at this new thing... but, I can see it's something I'll get really into... especially since we found the perfect spot off the bat. Usually... location is the most important thing.
I can't wait for my friend to upload the pictures... so you guys can have a better idea of what exactly Light Painting consists of.
After that... I brought out my newly bought Dino Suit... and kind of had a small shoot. It was raining some... but, the fact that I was in a Dino Suit and holding a yellow umbrella just made it so much better. In fact, my photographer friend and I are planning a whole day in Mito (the nearby capital city of Ibaraki) where I just wear the suit and he takes pictures of me.
He says I'm really cool to shoot... and is actually planning on creating a photography portfolio using me.
I think this is such a great opportunity... because, not only do I get to learn more about photography... but, I'll also get to "model" and be on the other side of the camera... something I'm hoping will only further expand my photography interest and knowledge in the future.
I might be buying his old camera to get really into photography now... but, at the same time... I kind of want a new one I can call my own.
But, as my friend said... "All you really need is a camera... any camera."
I guess it's like one of those things where you just need the equipment to keep practicing and learning the more you shoot.
Oh well... I'm really excited!
I'll leave you with a taste of what's to come (this is only from my cell phone... so, his pictures will obviously be soooooo much better):
