Inspiration Finds You...

... not the other way around.

It seems that whenever you need inspiration for something, the best thing you could do is just live life and be patient... when it's ready, inspiration will come to you willingly.

This is at least what seems to have happened to me.

While eating lunch in school one day, all of a sudden an idea came to me that eventually became the speech I used for my speech contest.

Then, yesterday... I made plans to hang out with a Japanese friend. Wasn't sure what was going to happen, but I was down for anything. Then on Friday evening, he called me telling me to bring my camera since he was going to take me to a place with graffiti.

I got really excited because I haven't taken any shots nor have I been inspired by anything lately. I guess it's mostly because I've been busy and then winter and the cold don't really serve up any motivation to do anything.

It's funny though, because I was expecting to be able to take a lot of pictures of the graffiti around, but that wasn't inspiring me either. I did manage some nice shots though:

But yeah... overall... wasn't feeling it like I had anticipated.

Then, my friend began just doing random stuff, and that's when I got trigger happy.

It kind of turned out to be like an "urban" photo shoot... or, at least some of my friends have described the shots to have an "urban" feel. I'm really excited to have had my friend there and to be taken to this place to find the inspiration that I have been lacking in my photography... or, to keep with my title of this entry... to have inspiration find me... cause, basically... that's what happened. I just happened to be at the right place at the right time... which allowed the magic to happen. I know I'm still miles and years away from becoming a professional photographer... but, I am happy with my work and progress as of now. And, it's something that makes me happy... so, I'm going to keep at it. Who knows what other inspiration is on the way... maybe it's just lost and needs a little more time to find me... heh heh.

Anyway... I leave you with more of the shots I liked from yesterday... something that seems to be constant with my shots... is people. I definitely like shooting people and anything that is available when someone is in front of the camera... able to do whatever it is that they are able to do. Sometimes you need to direct a little, which helps me develop my imagination further... and sometimes you're lucky enough where your subject does everything... and all you have to do is be ready to push the shutter button. So, yeah... other shots:

These shots are amazing. really.
i guess we appreciate antm more now as amateur photographers since they [Tyra and the photographers] are always saying that they're looking to be inspired and the less they have to direct the shoot the better.
"Urban" is definitely a niche that you could pursue and have it become your signature. ^^

In Soviet Russia inspiration finds YOU!

So, yes. You've officially taken better pictures in this one shoot than someone I know, that you know too, has taken in a life time. Do keep it up. IM me to reveal the name.
