So, after having my yearly health check this year and realizing that I've lost about 10 kg over the year (most of it since May)... and after being inspired by a close friend who's been making a change herself... I figured I should start a workout routine once again.
Yesterday was my first day at starting and I feel very optimistic about this workout routine this time around. I like working out... I really do... I just lack the motivation to actually get off my ass and do anything about it. Most of my previous workout attempts have always been with others... and once my co-workout buddies stop... it's only a matter of time before I quit as well.
Well... this time... it feels different... and hopefully I stick to this... especially after my recent motivation of having lost weight without much effort.
So, yeah... my friend, Tompooh... has a set of weights that I recently discovered. Not only that... but, I thought of a bunch of exercises that I could do with them even if they are limited.
However... the best part is that he lives in the next town over. So, it actually works perfectly in the sense that I could cycle to his house for cardio... workout... then cycle back for more cardio.
I've come to realize over the years that... I'm actually pretty muscular to begin with. Maybe it's natural for me... the problem is... the fat that goes along with said muscle is also natural. Needless to say... the only real muscle definition that is visible are my sacred calves.
That being said... it makes more sense for me to focus more on cardio than actually working out. And since I hate running... cycling is the next best thing. Plus... I get to work out my legs more and make my calves and thighs even awesomer and more well-definied. I WANT TO SEE BULGING VEINS ON MY LEGS!!!!!
... heh heh... but, yeah... the best part is that the cycle isn't as bad as I thought. It's only 25 minutes or so... in fact, I was kind of hoping it was a bit longer... but, I digress.
So, yesterday was my first day and I think it was a pretty good beginning workout to get back in the swing of things. Unfortunately, my friend came home from work and had plans that he wanted me to accompany him on... so, I missed out on my second cardio cycle back home.
Oh well... it was the first workout... so, we'll build on that.
So, let's see what I can accomplish this summer...
... or, I guess I should say in the following week since I have two friends coming to Japan and plan on traveling/hanging with them and traveling around. Though that impedes on my workout plan... it still isn't that bad since I tend to lose weight when traveling from all the walking and not being alone all day in my apartment... bored out of my mind.
Me being bored at home is what tends to get me in trouble... I resort to eating just because it'll give me something to do... BLARGH!
But, that's alright... we are out to fix this problem and hopefully I'll be seeing some results soon to motivate me to keep going... and thus be motivated and eager to continue with my cardio-workout-cardio routine once I return!
DO IT!!!!!

Woooooooo!!! Who is this awesome friend who's inspiring you to be healthier??? Hehe. If your main goal is to lose fat, then yes, stick with cardio. However, I'd suggest that you use the HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) system, for it burns the most amount of fat, in the least amount of time. For instance: start off with 5 minutes of warmup at an easy pace, then do 3 minutes of moderate intensity, 2 minutes high intensity, 1 minute recovery, 2 minutes high intensity, etc... Also, don't know if you've heard of this, but there's something called the 10% rule: to increase your workout time or intensity by 10% each week. If you increase more than this, you risk burning out and exhausting yourself. Besides, you're in no rush - if you were able to lose 10 kg without really trying to, imagine what you'll have lost this time next year now that you've started working out! Keep it up!!!! :) I'm proud of you. <3
