Travel

I was bored at work... it only being the second day since the end of winter break and not having classes and all... so, I was basically trying to find anything to keep me occupied.

That's when I stumbled across this calendar that had pictures of different places around the world. As I looked through the calendar, I caught myself daydreaming about being in the different locations... taking pictures... taking in the culture, food... mingling with the people and experiencing their lives.

I got really excited and decided... hey, I should make a list of the places I want to visit. It's a bit stupid I guess, but, I somehow feel that if it's written down... and publicly to boot... then maybe the chances of it coming true will be more likely.

So here we go... the places I MUST travel to at some point in my life:

1) Italy
2) Spain
3) Greece
4) Portugal
5) Egypt
6) Australia
7) South Africa
8) Brazil
9) Hawaii (I know it's America... but, still... I feel the need to have to visit)
10) Jamaica


11) Japan - I know that I'm currently living in Japan... but with my time here coming to an end within a year and a half... there are still many places I have yet to visit. And even then... I think Japan will always be a place that I'd love to return to... especially if I get to come back with someone who's never been to Japan. That way I can share a piece of my life that took place for 4-ish years of my life. Anyway... the places in Japan that I still must visit include Hokkaido (which will actually happen next month... heading to the Snow Festival in Hokkaido), Okinawa, Nara, Osaka (I've been to Osaka... but, it was only one night during NYE so I didn't really experience anything there)... and I'm sure I'm missing more.

So far... the only place I have visited that I've really wanted to travel to is Japan. There have been other countries I've gone to, and it's not to say that I didn't have a good time visiting these places... it's just that they were never really places I imagined going to.

These places include the first country I've ever traveled to, Dominican Republic... as well as Hong Kong/Macau, Thailand, and Taiwan.

With each of these places... someone was planning on traveling there and invited me to tag along with them. I'm so glad I was able to visit each of these countries because it made me realize how fun traveling could be and awakened the world traveler inside of me.

I only hope that my life will from now on... be full of travel. Hopefully I manage to have at least one traveling experience yearly for the rest of my life.

Coming up this year... Sapporo, Palau and India... hopefully! And with my mom potentially coming in the summer... maybe I'll be able to cross out more of my Japan to-do-list!
