The past three days of work have been really boring. I have pretty much done absolutely nothing but sti at my desk trying to figure out what I can do to make time fly. Needless to say... I have not been very successful. The only official things I have done are introduce myself to the teachers (about 15 seconds), introduce myself to the students in a ceremony(about 20-30 seconds), and then basically only say "yoroshiku onegaishimasu" to the first years during their opening/welcoming ceremony (2 seconds at most).
My work for my first 3 days does not even add up to one whole minute.
Man, I don't know how I'm surviving. I mostly just stare out of the teacher's room's windows and enjoy looking at the cherry blossoms. It's come to the point where I feel that I'm actually experiencing their blooming before my eyes. Obviously I'm not actually seeing the petals open, but I feel as I notice more and more cherry blossoms thoughout the same day. I need to remember to bring my camera.
Anyway, back to the school. The teachers are all very nice. They attempt as much English as possible, even if it is just to say "good morning," "hello," or "thank you." Makes me feel very welcomed. There is only one dude... think he's the school's ground keeper... yeah, he seems a bit grumpy and might be trying to avoid any interaction with me. But, not going to let it get to me... I mean, he's not even a teacher... no offense to him.
As for the students... they are all so cute. I mentioned I liked Pokemon... so, that's basically what all my conversations have consisted of. Can't wait to get started teaching to have more interactions with them. The first years are especially cute. To think we were all that small at some point... heh heh...
