Poem 23 - Curse Love

Love is not for me
That's what I told myself
I stood alone
Without the experience
Without the knowledge
All while everyone found the emotion
Found the happiness
Found their one.

But time's a-changing
Love has found me
It's coming 'round
I've lost the darkness
That was keeping me hidden
Out of reach
Love is giving ME a chance.

It's all new to me
I must learn this new walk
This new talk
It frightens me actually
Years of acceptance
Years of no love
It was no mystery at all.

But, now I fear and worry
If love finds me unworthy
Takes you from me
How can I return to my old self
The one who knew no love.

I can't...
I mustn't...
For now I know what I've been missing
How good it feels
To have the one for me
That wants only me
Lives for my love.
Yes, I can never go back.

So once again, I stand alone
Unhappy as before.
I curse you love
For touching my heart
Letting me take part
You bring me more pain
Than I should've known.
